What we do
At the heart of what we do is to create dialogues that lead to genuine change and progress in social policy.
We are apolitical and have no social agenda other than enabling local agencies to serve their communities more effectively across a range of issues.
With a particular interest in how policy meets practice, we organise dialogue-based conferences across criminal justice, home affairs, social care, education, children services and health.
Our conferences aren’t typical. Most conferences rely almost exclusively on the expertise and authority of speakers who often sit in senior management or political roles, rarely drawing on where much of the real answers lie: the knowledge, experience and skills of those with front-line experience. Our aim is to deliver innovative and engaging conferences that not only give space to policy makers, leading experts and those on the front line, but also create structured space for delegates to learn from one another and reflect intentionally on what’s coming out of the conference.
The value that we place on dialogue is a reflection of our professional background in coaching and facilitation. Therefore, alongside conferences we deliver a range of coaching, action learning and group facilitation-related services that encourage and facilitate effective, forward-looking conversations – conversations that are necessary yet often sorely lacking.
Finally, we can provide a tailored programme to help you host your own local dialogue event, whether that’s a conference, symposium, facilitated discussion or something unique devised together. If it’s about creating a learning conversation, then Policy Dialogues can help you to achieve it.

Social Policy Conferences
Nexus Dialogues have an active programme of researching and organising conferences on a range of social policy issues which bring policy makers together with local agencies to find new ways forward.
Covering a wide range of topics including criminal justice, education and children services, social care and health, our aim is not merely dissemination of policy but, more importantly, the active engagement of frontline workers in learning from one another and sharing best practices and ideas.
Although we stay on top of current issues, we are always interested to hear of topics you feel we could usefully cover. Bookmark this page to stay up to date with our conferences.

Executive & Leadership Coaching
It can be lonely at the top when running a complex organisation, delivering against constant change and competing priorities and managing organisational anxieties.
Coaching is a highly-effective approach to creating much-needed thinking space for busy executives and Nexus Dialogues can support this by providing individual executive or leadership coaching by phone or in-person.
We oversee an association on qualified and credentialed coaches who understand the issues faced by executives and leaders working in the social policy and provision arena and we’d be delighted to talk with you about how we might meet your the coaching requirements..

Group Coaching & Facilitation
Whether you want to create a regular Action Learning process of a team of executives or you want a one-off group event, Nexus Dialogues can help.
Group coaching and related facilitation processes can be very powerful tools for creating shared learning that allows individuals or teams to reflect on practice, policy and pressures in their area of work.
All of our facilitators are qualified coaches and facilitators and they can bring a range of approaches to bear on achieving outcomes for teams and groups – we offer Balint Groups and Action Learning for smaller groups and processes such as a World Cafe or Open Space for larger groups.

Local Conference Organisation
Many organisations want to create and run their own conference but don’t know where to start or are worried about the costs involved.
You might want to run a conference on a key policy issue that needs to be addressed locally bringing together key partners to share experiences, address challenges and disseminate information and ideas. Or you might want to involve the community in sharing what you’re trying to achieve.
We take this pressure off you and your team and help make your event happen. There are a number of ways this can work and, far from being financially demanding, it can potentially generate enormous exposure and credibility for your organisation.
